Thank you for committing to this 30 Day Christian Green Living Challenge with us! Each day as we step through our journey, I’ll share the challenge for the day then, depending on your green goals, I will share resources where you can learn more, dig deeper into the topic, or challenge yourself even more. We will do the challenge once *live* together, but you can participate anytime by joining in on the comments below and by using the hashtag #ChristianGreenLiving. So, when you’re ready, let’s Go Christian Green!
In the past 14 days we’ve taken time to stop and consider our “why” and we’ve tried a lot of new things. Today, in addition to our challenge, let’s slow down, consider our goals and celebrate our successes.
Just making it to day 15 of a 30-day challenge is a huge success, but tracking our wins can help us to really see how far we’ve come and be able to more clearly decide where we would like to go.
For each of us, our choices will be different. What I want to gain from this challenge and what you want to achieve might be different, so to help make tracking a little easier, I’ve created a tracker with some of the goals we have been working on so far. You can use it to track as you continue the challenge or you can use it for a week then set new goals based on your wins.
The tracker is free for you to use as you’d like, but please don’t share it. I created it especially for you as a bonus for participating in this challenge. You can view and download it from the link below.
Today’s Day 15 Challenge:
How has the challenge been going for you so far? Have you begun to see things differently or learned something you didn’t know before?
Pray
In our prayers today, let’s stop to thank God again for the gift of life and creation and then pray another prayer from Pope Francis in Laudato Si’:
A prayer for our earth (Laudato Si’, Chapter 6)
All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.
Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction.
Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth.
Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united
with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.
Amen
Act
Today or sometime during the week, challenge yourself to learn something new by watching an eco-friendly documentary on a topic you’ve not considered before or one you would like to learn more about.
Track Your Success: I’ve created a tracking sheet with some of the challenges we’ve been working on these past two weeks. It is free for you to download and print or use as a reference to your own tracking. I encourage you to print it on the back of scrap paper or use your own paper to track and use it only as a guide.
